What is Deep Green Innovators?

Deep Green Innovators is an innovation program designed to welcome the unexpected. We bring together commited individuals with an array of personal and professional backgrounds with industry professionals and research within the field of sustainable energy. In a captivating workshop program we take you through exercises to unleash creativity and forward-thinking.

The program is a collaboration between Aarhus University, Aalborg University and Copenhagen Business School with support from The Danish Industry’s Foundation.

​

Structure of the program

  • Application opens: February 11, 2025 to March 9, 2025

  • Discovery Phase: March 27, 2025 to May, 17, 2025 (find specific dates here).

Idea generation, research discovery, problem framing, team formation.

  • Incubation Phase: May – September 2025

Idea maturation, business development, coaching, knowledge sharing, funding coaching.

What is the outcome of the program?

During the program you will gain lots of insights from collaborating with the other Innovators. All of your different backgrounds and perspectives will serve as inspiration and motivation for the process going forward.

​

By the end of the Discovery Phase you will team up with the other Innovators and a number of teams will be able to advace to the Incubation Phase.

​

The goal of the program is to start new companies, and during the Incubation Phase you will have plenty of time to further develop and test your business idea.

​

Who Should Apply? 
We are looking for brilliant minds, who has the dedication and motivation it takes to create brilliant, change-making green start-ups. You need to be committed to dedicating time and energy to an intense and rewarding program.

We are looking for the following profiles to participate: 

  • Entrepreneurs looking for their next start-up adventure

  • Students deeply committed to green tech, sustainability or entrepreneurship

  • Green tech or sustainability professionals who wants to dive into entrepreneurship and commercialize innovative research

  • Professionals who are looking for their next career path and curious about sustainability and green tech

Facts about Deep Green Innovators

Deep Green Innovators is a pilot project running over three years. Five cohorts of entrepreneurial talents will go through a six-month program with workshops, team formation, innovation sprints, and incubation. The aim is to kickstart the process of starting new companies with inspiration from research results related to different aspects of the green transition. The program started at the beginning of 2024 and is funded by nearly 10 million DKK from the Danish Industry Foundation. The program is run by Aarhus University in collaboration with Aalborg University and Copenhagen Business School.
